Method
[H, Z_i] was computed exactly for a 4-site chain and found nonzero (confirming the transverse field genuinely drives quantum dynamics, unlike the classical Ising operator), and the exact ground-state energy from full diagonalization was compared against the known closed-form free-fermion dispersion at the self-dual point h=J for small n.
Result
Pass · [H, Zᵢ] ≠ 0 as expected, and the numerically diagonalized ground energy matches the closed-form Pfeuty free-fermion result at h=J to machine precision.
